Operation CARE is where the American Legion Post 153 stands a post at the public rest stop on US 127 between Dewitt and St. Johns.  We hand out free cups of coffee and donuts to weary holiday drivers and family on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day weekends.  We also have free cups of ice tea, lemonade and ice water.

                           Honoring Our Veterans

Each year there is Veterans' Day Observance Parade on November 11, at 11 am in downtown St Johns..

The parade goes from Wilson Center through downtown St. Johns to the Veterans' Memorial.  A free luncheon is normally provided for Veterans and their family after the Veterans' Day ceremony, at the American Legion Hall on Walker Street. Keep an eye on this page for more details as we get closer to November.
